My name is Jackie Keefe and I am a 2024 Green Party candidate for the Hawai’i State Senate seeking to represent west & south Maui, Waikapu, and Ma’alaea. I believe that we deserve communicative leaders who step into politics not as a career but as a calling.
I’ve been working in community outreach since the August 2023 wildfires, and I’ve learned a lot about what’s broken in our state. I believe that collaboration and communication are the foundation of a healthy democracy. We are in the collective process of writing our future, and how we write that matters.
The focus of governments should be to implement policies that make people’s lives better. We should be working towards creating a circular economy for the islands of Hawai’i. We must work to tackle housing insecurity by using the existing housing inventory for our local people and leveraging all available modern resources to rebuild Lahaina. Food insecurity can be addressed through the planting of food forests on mismanaged county, state, and privately owned land. Reforestation needs to be a priority to restore our water table and heal our ‘aina.

Jackie has years of restaurant management experience so she understands the plight of the working people and small business owners.
Experience
Jackie has worked alongside community volunteers, county, state, and federal employees since the August 2023 wildfires and will continue to encourage this type of collaboration from all levels of government.
Passion
Jackie’s passion is helping people. Her primary goal is to improve the lives of Hawai’i residents, so she seeks to engage all members of the community, no matter their political affiliation.
